Questions and Answers

How did your writing career begin?

More than twenty years ago I sought God concerning my purpose when these words clearly came to me, "You will minister by the things you write."

Eight years passed but I still wasn't writing professionally. Finally, my husband said, "Lisa, you continuously say you're called to write. When are you going to get to the business of writing?" He encouraged me to further my education and when a friend shared information about an in-state writer's conference he encouraged me to "go for it!"

After attending the Florida Christian Writer's Conference for two years and putting much of their advice into practice, I felt brave enough to submit a book proposal at my third conference. To my amazement it won best non-fiction book proposal. I contracted with AMG Publishers and the rest is history.

Why did you write Life Interrupted?

Through time, I saw how God helped me to persevere through difficult obstacles and interruptions. With this knowledge came an overwhelming sense of obligation to share with others the keys to overcoming.

Do you have any other books planned?

Yes, I'm working on my next titled, Strutting Out From Under. The situation we're currently involved in can seem hopeless because of its longevity. This book offers hope to areas where we feel we don't measure up, when we're intimidated and when too much is expected of us.
